My grandma & a couple pics

Yesterday Lauren & I were busy making a special supper for Curt coming home - since he's been gone all week for work. She went to the drawer got out an apron and was ready to help. She pulled out grandma's apron, so I put it on her. As we were baking away and she was so into it I couldn't help but be brought back to memories of my childhood & baking with my grandma. I loved, loved, loved going to my grandma's house and we would bake all day. We'd get out recipe books & pick out everything we were going to bake while I got to stay with her. Then we'd get to go into town and grocery shop for whatever we needed. And we would bake & bake & bake. She had silly rules like - no licking your fingers & everything needed to be measured just perfectly, but we'd always get to lick the spoon or spatula when we were done. And she was good, like really good... and we would sit together in front of the stove and watch the cookies rise... Thanks Lauren for bringing back these wonderful memories of my grandma - Oh how I miss her!

Here is Lauren working away - very focused!
note - Maddie in the background always waiting for an opportunity to catch a drop of food...
and a picture of my grandma simply because she was beautiful in so many ways!

And a couple pics of the kids playing yesterday - I got my new iphone - love the new camera on it! So fun & now I have no excuses for having no photos to post :)

 Happy Friday!

she's funny

Little Miss Lauren (aka Sunshine) is quite the little girl these days. I've been pretty much awful at taking pics so this is all I've got from the past couple of weeks... Just pics of Lauren well doing Lauren stuff.

Like getting into my makeup

and hanging out in peculiar places...

and shoving her big brother into peculiar places.

Our week has been filled with catching back up on life. After being sick last week and getting ready for my Canterbury Show last week and weekend - we are just enjoying everyday things that we've been missing out on. Today it was the library & pizza with the Engel's, tomorrow it's the playground at the mall and coffee with Jodi.

And tomorrow Curt gets home - Yeah!

Some Monday Morning Thoughts (no pics - sorry grandmas!)

We have been to the ER twice & dr office twice in the last 8 days - that is 4 too many times for me... (Jack has croup, LK has croup & big boys playing with fire is a bad combo!)

LK was in the ER until 10:30 last night for her croup & is still snoozing away (soooo thankful she slept all night!)

Steroids make your kids crazy (at least I'm hoping it's the 'roids - one more day!)

We have not sold our home and are seriously considering becoming landlords (are we crazy?)

The kids were sooo happy to see their daddy on Friday after being gone for the week for work. He leaves again on Sunday (this makes me sad)

We got to spend cousin time with Reese and Cade on Saturday morning and got to play crazy with the Sullivan's on Saturday night - we love, love, love having visitors in town - it makes mommy very happy!

I snuck away for some shopping time with Dana and a pedi with Jodi this weekend - again a happy mommy!

Canterbury starts on Thursday - yikes! My mom and dad are coming to help - we are so blessed to have such amazing parents :)

Our house is a disaster - we have no groceries - and I can't find half of the kids clothes so they have been wearing the same 3 outfits for the past 3 weeks...

I love the kitchen at our rental - it makes me happy - I've been cooking and baking a lot - this weekend I made pumpkin muffins & carnitas - yummo!

What I should really be doing is working... did I mention I have a 4 day show starting on Thursday?! So, I should put down the coffee and get to work!

ps - I think I'm officially addicted to Caribou.. I'm going to try really hard to have no more than 3 cups a week... think I can do it?

Happy Monday everyone!

Trick or Treat

So, I have learned costumes go on right before leaving... I don't know how many times Lauren undressed herself as I turned my back to do something.... but we got a picture as we were walking out the door. Yes, this is her new smile 'cheeeeeeese' I'm not sure why anyone ever thought 'cheese' should be the word for smile, because it doesn't necessarily make anyone smile but make this goofy face instead. Whatever.

Jack wasn't much into getting 'dressed' up for Halloween. Last week when I asked him what he'd like to be he informed me he'd like to be 'Halloween Jack' and what does that look like I asked? 'It looks just like me now.' He didn't want anything to do with capes or extravagant costumes.. So a rocker he was. Though after tonight I'm pretty sure he will dress up however I want him to, because he was in absolute heaven running door to door getting candy at every stop. His bucket was overflowing by the time we were finished. (I think I may have to throw 3/4 of the candy away in a day or two - after I pick out all of the Reese's peanut butter cups, Whoppers & Almond Joys of course!)

And this was the best picture I could muster up of my two rockers. They were pretty pumped to head out & they did great. Lauren was daddy's girl all night (I'm pretty sure because they lagged behind and snuck into the candy early) And Jack was Kaleb's buddy leading the pack from door to door.

And I managed to get a photo of me and my princess!

Happy Halloween!

Thinking Pink

Well it didn't take long to open up that little envelope on our fridge and it's time for the Tetzlaff's to starting thinking pink! I honestly did not care one bit whether this little babe is a boy or a girl, but I have to say I'm excited for Lauren to have a sister. Though I fear the ages of 12 - 18 and maybe a little after 18 too... but I am excited for the journey!

So I did a little 'etsy' window shopping this afternoon and had to post these for crafting inspiration!

I think I can manage this flower without a sewing machine!

love this print for her room...

I love how delicate this hand dyed cheesecloth wrap is - sounds like a messy project - might be better off spending the $10...

and I found this which I think is just adorable - I have a few old children's books I found at a garage sale & thought I would one day need... now I think I know why I needed them :) And Curt never understands why I have some of things I do (sometimes it just can't be explained!)

And of course I love the idea of the monthly onesie!

So it looks like Curt & Jackson will be soon outnumbered.. sorry boys!

A Happy Friday!

Today we had our 20 week (doesn't it seem like I've been pregnant WAY longer than this?!) ultrasound to make sure baby is happy and healthy. And baby is indeed doing great :) So the question is 'is it a boy or a girl?' the answer is sealed tightly in this envelope - hanging on our refrigerator. How long will we be able to wait?

So for now this is all I have to offer (not even any 3d this time) This is a profile pic of the little one if you can't tell...

So, I had to go back and find pics of Jackson and Lauren when they were born & I am so excited to meet the new addition to our family in March :)

Here is our little man...

and our little lady...

Both beautiful & precious & I am overwhelmed with joy to have gotten to see just a little picture of #3 growing happily today. We are all so excited to meet you little one!
