lately

Since I know that if you're reading our blog you probably would rather see pictures of the kids, than pictures of Curt & me :) So here is what the Tetzlaff kids have been up to lately.

First of all I got a new camera, a new haircut & Elaina would love to permanently be attached to my right hip if I would allow her :)

Elaina has this funky hair thing going on - it's cute and curly out of the tub, it's wispy and weird once it dries & she's still bald on the sides above her ears... poor girl - she refuses the headband which cures all problems - but refuses. She turns it into either a necklace or an eye patch instantly. She is also sporting the vampire teeth - can't see it here, but this look will soon pass :)

her brother can not keep his hands off of her... he's always trying to make her laugh

and keep her happy - he's a good big brother!

Lauren is funny - this is a typical Lauren face. She's very serious these days.

The kids have been loving playing out in the snow. They are typically 'making pizzas'

and Elaina sits and wishes she was out there playing too, but it's not my favorite so she gets to stay and hang out with mom :)

and that's what we've been up to lately, just doing life :)

6 years...

I have been married to this guy...

for 6 years. We decided that deserved a little getaway - so we went to the beautiful city of Savannah, GA. Curt really, really, really wanted to golf (did I emphasize that enough?)

I really, really, really wanted to sit in a warm park, relax, read, think, write, take photos...

I think this bird is shivering... can you tell? Anyway, it was cold so our trip wasn't exactly what we had planned. But it was still wonderful. Curt got to golf one day & swung his clubs around in our beautiful room every other chance he got :) I ran on the cold beach to stay warm & sat by the fireplace and relaxed - so it all worked out!

We stayed at 'The Gastonian' a wonderful bed and breakfast.

We would walk up and down into this beautiful old mansion and pretend we were going to a special party in the late 1800's.

The historic district of the city has all been restored to the original look and feel. The city is built around parks & everything has so much character. We spent most of our time (when we weren't golfing, thinking about golfing or relaxing) walking & walking some more, taking photos, enjoying the old beauty & dining at some wonderful restaurants.

Happy belated anniversary Curtis!

1 year of Elaina

Happy birthday sweet little Elaina! You are our 'ena', 'peanut', 'baby girl', 'dookers'. Your smiles and giggles bring joy to everyone you meet. You have a kind, laid back, easy going disposition. You giggle when your brother plays peek a boo, you laugh when your sister steals your food, you launch into your daddy's arms when he comes home from work & you love being held by your mommy.  Your features are dainty and delicate, you are beautiful and perfect in every way. I am so thankful God gave you to us 1 year ago - you have brought more joy and love into our family! We love you so much and love watching and helping you grow! Happy Birthday beautiful baby girl!

Love,
Mom

and a picture of our perfect bundle of joy just a couple weeks old - precious!

It was a snow day for us today - I know you can't really tell but it's snowing and raining and freezing and I don't even know what else was going on - I just hunkered down and had a lazy day...

A celebration!

February at the Tetzlaff household is a month full of celebrations - Curt's birthday, Valentine's day, Elaina's birthday & finally our anniversary (these are actually all within 5 days - so really it's just one big week but we like to spread it out across the month!)

So last weekend we celebrated Lauren and Elaina's birthday (we should have celebrated Curt's too... oops!)

I love the pictures of Lauren and Elaina feeding each other cake - so sweet!

When I asked Lauren what she wanted for her birthday all she said she wanted was 'pink and purple' so that's what we did :)

This little girl has her grandmas wrapped around her precious little finger!

Reese and Cade came to play (so did Lily - she's in the background hanging out with Maddie!)

Uncle Brett came to play too!

and Grandma and Grandpa Wulfekuhle

and Grandma and Grandpa Tetzlaff

this is Sunday morning and everyone is looking a little tired... we couldn't even get Jackson off the couch to join our family picture...

It was a great weekend made special by all of our family that came to celebrate with us. We love you 'Little Miss Lauren' and 'Sweet Elaina' - Happy Birthdays!
